Ka-Ching! More Good News for Red-Hot Asian Tigers

Coeur d'Alene to buy Bolnisi, Palmarejo
NEW YORK, May 3 (Reuters) - Coeur d'Alene Mines Corp. (CDE.N: Quote, Profile, Research (CDM.TO: Quote, Profile, Research said on Thursday it would buy Bolnisi Gold NL (BSG.AX: Quote, Profile, Research and Palarejo Silver and Gold Corp. in a transaction valued at $1.1 billion that would create the world's leading primary silver producer.

Red-Hot Asian Tiger subscribers have had Bolnisi in their portfolios for a while now, and it's paying off. But should we take the money and run or roll in Coeur (Bolnisi shareholders will receive 0.682 Coeur shares for each Bolnisi share they own). I'll explore that in the next issue of Red-Hot Asian Tigers.
That was a pretty good run. I think Bolnisi is undervalued in the offer, but eh ... what ya gonna do?

Ride the Uranium Rocket

I've turned in my first draft of my next Money and Markets piece. Now, the editing process begins, and that is a race with time itself, because the uranium market is moving so fast that you can write something one day and it's obsolete the next. Here's the opening I've got now ...

Disaster! Calamity! Madness! That about sums up the tidal wave of events that is engulfing utilities around the world as ANOTHER uranium mine gets kayoed by forces beyond its control. The most recent victim: The Ranger Mine operated by Energy Resources of Australia (ERA). My Red-Hot Australian Tigers subscribers are quite familiar with this one – they owned its shares until last week. When I heard what happened, I told my subscribers to get out quickly, and they should have bagged about 60% gains (before commissions).

I mention it here as an example of why it’s just as important to know when to SELL a uranium mine as it is when to buy. I’ll tell you more about that, as well as three fundamental forces that should drive uranium to $100 per pound a lot quicker than anyone thought. AND I’m going to show you why we’re at one of the best buying opportunities I’ve seen in uranium stocks in a long, long time.

That's the most fun I've had writing a lede to a story in a long time. But this is a gripping story -- can you believe that both the Ranger and Cigar Lake mines are flooded now? Holy smokes! If there was ever a time to be invested in uranium miners, now is the time!

Asian Stock Tsunami Update

When I went to bed around midnight last night, Asian stocks looked pretty bleak. But we've seen some pretty good bounces this morning. We aren't out of the woods yet, but here are some stories ...

Shanghai Shares Rebound Nearly 4 Percent; China Says No Plans to Tax Capital Gains

SHANGHAI, China (AP) -- Chinese stocks recovered Wednesday following their worst plunge in a decade as regulators shifted into damage control, denying rumors of plans for a 20 percent capital gains tax on stock investments.

The Shanghai Composite Index gained 3.9 percent to 2,881.07 after opening 1.3 percent lower. On Tuesday, it tumbled 8.8 percent, its largest decline since Feb. 18, 1997.

XX However, not all the news is good, as the story goes on to say ...

Markets across Asia were still rattled, with many falling for a second day. Japan's benchmark Nikkei Index sank 2.85 percent, while stocks in the Philippines tumbled 7.9 percent. Malaysian shares fell 3.3 percent, while Hong Kong's market fell 2.5 percent.

XX And here is a story on how China is NOT planning a big capital gains tax -- apparently, that was fuel for the spark of yesterday's selling.

Report: China not planning big capital gains tax

XX Now, let's look at some charts of Asian stocks of interest ...

Again, this doesn't mean we're out of the woods. But commodity-heavy Australia seems to be bearing up better than financials-focused Japan. Stay tuned for more updates. Good luck, and good trades.

Red-Hot Resources: We Have Ignition!

If you're a subscriber to Red-Hot Asian Tigers, it's a very good morning for you. I've recommended Summit Resources twice in Red-Hot Asian Tigers the last two weeks, and you should have been able to buy it at least one of those times. And look at it now ...

You can read about the takeover bid by CLICKING HERE. The upshot for Red-Hot Asian Tiger subscribers is, for every 1,000 shares you had of Summit, you just racked up about $1,000 in open gains. That's before commissions, and open gains aren't profits until you book 'em. Still, not bad for a couple weeks!

Now, should you bank those gains now? Should you hold? Or is this a good time to buy more shares of Summit? I'm afraid my opinions on those subjects are for Red-Hot Asian Tigers subscribers only. Look for an issue today or tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Red-Hot Canadian Small-Caps subscribers shouldn't feel left out. You have huge gains on one uranium stock and over 23% n the other one we added just about two weeks ago.

PLUS, the news about Summit sent other small-cap uranium companies soaring in Australia. The same thing will probably happen in Canada.

And we aren't even close to the end of the wild, bullish story on uranium. In fact, if anything, we're at the beginning of the end of the first chapter of the Big Uranium Bull Market.

Hey, remember that Ugly Duckling I talked about in a recent Money and Markets -- the only stock in my Small Uranium Wonders report that hadn't left the launch pad yet. Well, check out its chart including Monday's rip-roaring action ...

It sure looks like it is breaking out to me. Good thing I recommended subscribers buy another 800 shares of this one on Friday! But is it too late to buy this or the other stocks in Small Uranium Wonders? No! Hell, no! I can't emphasize enough, we're at the beginning of the end of the first chapter of the Big Uranium Bull Market. I believe there is much, much more to come.

If you don't have Small Uranium Wonders yet, call 800-400-6916 and get it now.

Uranium Stocks Blast Off

Yesterday, we saw a stock that was recently added to the Red-Hot Canadian Small-Caps portfolio jump 14% in one day...

That was pretty sweet. Then, overnight, the most recent addition to the Red-Hot Asian Tigers portfolio -- also a uranium stock -- jumped 14%!

The stock was recommended in the January 3 issue of Red-Hot Asian Tigers, but I told subs to buy it on a pullback, so it wasn’t filled at our price until January 15th. No sooner did subs get in than this thing started ramping up! So, it racked up 28.5% gains in five days, and 14% in just one day! (Subscribers who bought the US tracking stock on the pink sheets won't see the gain until Monday, because pink sheets always report prices a day behind).

All in all, I think this is a great time for me to be going to Canada to the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference to talk to people from some mining stocks I'm really interested in. At least half of them are uranium stocks. I don't know if they're all winners -- I'll have a better idea after my trip -- but man, I am seeing some HUGE bargains just waiting for you to reach out and grab them.

I'll finish up my next uranium report while I'm up there. You can read about that by CLICKING HERE.

As for Red-Hot Canadian Small-Caps and Red-Hot Asian Tigers subscribers -- you already have uranium stocks in your portfolios (RHAT subs have FOUR of them). And you should have all the uranium stocks from my first report in October. So if you think you have enough, I don't blame you.

But if you want an even bigger piece of what could be the biggest bull market of our lifetimes, call
1-800-400-6916 for your special discount rate on the new report.

Charts for today

I am swamped today, so here are some charts to look at. Red-Hot Canadian Small-Caps and Red-Hot Asian Tigers subs take note -- I'm showing a stock for each service that you already hold...

First, let's look at crude. Not so bullish.

The bounce today isn't very convincing. On the other hand, look at the volume -- we're seeing big selling by funds, particularly hedge funds. You know they all run to one side of the boat at once. That unbalances any market, but it also helps us find bottoms (and tops).

Now for the next chart. It's interesting to see how the Australian market broke away from the S&P 500 in late December, but has come back to Earth hard. Today was a very bullish day in Australia. We'll see if we have follow-through.

RCS subs should know that Forsys Metals, my latest uranium pick, pulled back and got you filled on Friday, then took off like a rocket. Note the rising triangle -- bullish!
And here is one for RHAT subs. Check out the bullish action in Sino Gold! Your whole portfolio had a very bullish day.

But who knows what tomorrow will bring for either service. Stay tuned!

Emerging Market Mania

Bloomberg tells us today...

Emerging-market stocks may lead global equity returns for a sixth straight year because consumers from China to Brazil are becoming wealthy enough to propel economic growth even as demand for their exports slows.

Investors are targeting telephone companies and banks to profit from growing domestic spending after Chinese wages doubled during the past five years, Brazil's interest rates tumbled to the lowest in two decades and loans from Indian banks jumped 35 percent in the past two years.

Some factoids from the story...

  • In China, per-capita disposable incomes in towns and cities, where more than 500 million people live, rose 10 percent in the first nine months of 2006 from a year earlier. In India, the number of households earning an annual income of at least $10,000 is rising more than 20 percent a year, according to consultants McKinsey & Co. in New York.
  • Corporate and consumer lending in India has expanded more than a third in the last two fiscal years.
  • An MSCI index of food and beverage stocks in China soared 89 percent in 2006. A gauge of companies in India that make cars and other big-ticket items jumped 39 percent. In the U.S., by comparison, Procter & Gamble Co., the world's biggest consumer products company, rose 12 percent.

You can read the rest of the story by CLICKING HERE.

Bloomberg is picking up on the theme I wrote about in last week's Money and Markets, "Using International ETFs in 2007." In that article, I said: "For my money, the real outperforming countries are those in emerging markets — places outside the G-10 group of developed nations. That shouldn’t come as a surprise to subscribers of my Red-Hot Asian Tigers service. We’re already seeing big gains on stocks that operate around the Pacific Rim."

Investing overseas is potentially very lucrative, but it's best done with professional advice, because those markets can be brutal. If you're going to do it with ETFs,
you might want to check out my report, “ETFs Made Easy.”

Enlist Now, and Win The Global War for Natural Resources

My latest MoneyandMarkets.com column is up, In it, I talk about the latest developments in the Global War for Natural Resources. I believe this struggle, not the battle with al Qaeda and fundamentalist Islam, will define the 21st century. I've banged the table about this before, but now I'm putting my money where my mouth is and launching a new trading service, with the goal of helping people put their money to work in this War for Natural Resources ... and potentially make a pile of money themselves.

Here are some ways the new service is different from Red-Hot Asian Tigers and Red-Hot Canadian Small-Caps:

1) The new service is US-listed stocks only.
2) It will recommend trades in mid- and large-cap stocks. The trades will also be shorter-term. In other words, these aren't the swing-for-the-fences small-cap trades that RCS and RHAT focus on.
3) The trading is primarily technical and short-term in nature. There won't be long explanations or in-depth analysis (at least in the issues -- we still do a lot of analysis behind the scenes).

There are more differences, and you can find out what they are by calling 1-800-430-3683. Subscribers to Red-Hot Asian Tigers and Red-Hot Canadian Small-Caps will get to test this new service FREE for three months. Just call 1-800-430-3683 and we'll hook you up.

The name of my new service: Red-Hot Resources. Yes, it's the same name as this blog. But we'll probably fold this blog into the new service down the road, as I can only do so many things at once.

You can find out more by CLICKING HERE . Or you can read my MoneyandMarkets column about it by CLICKING HERE.
