When Gold and the Dollar Walk Together

In 2007, we saw the US dollar tumble while gold went higher. That trend seems to have ended.

Have we ever seen anything like this before? Sure, and not too long ago -- the US dollar and gold BOTH rallied.

Interestingly, the trend lasted all year. And it ended in 2006 as the dollar tumbled and gold soared -- at first. You'll remember after the big initial move, for the rest of the year, both moved sideways. And then that trend ended in 2007, as we saw the dollar tumble again and gold REALLY take off.
